RO membrane preservative
Sodium metabisulfite 97 +%, pure, food grade watermaker RO membrane preservative
In Europe, sodium disulfite is used as a food additive (E 223), mainly as a preservative and antioxidant. Ideal as RO membrane preservative for marine watermaker.
Sodium metabisulfite (SMBS) is also a standard chemical employed in water treatment. SMBS can inhibit fungal growth and aerobic bacteria on reverse osmosis membranes when used as a watermaker preservative solution.
SMBS can also be used as a cost-effective solution for the treatment and removal of free chlorine.
- Food grade Sodium Metabisulfite (E223)
- Standard RO membrane preservative or watermaker pickling solution chemical used in marine reverse osmosis desalination systems during shutdowns, periods of inactivity or storage and transport
- Biocide for conservation of marine watermaker membranes
- Powder form (pickling powder)
- 0.25 kg bottle
- Dilute 1 percent in distilled water (100 gr in 10 liters of distilled water)
